Personal trainers: Setout builds a website where clients book sessions and classes.
£39 a month including VAT. Your domain's included, you can cancel any time and you pay nothing until it's live.
Most people hire a personal trainer at a turning point: a new year, a wedding, a doctor's warning, a knee that needs rebuilding. They want to know you're qualified, that you've helped people like them, what it costs and when they can start. If they can book a first session there and then, most of the selling is done.
Setout builds you that website, on a design made for trainers and gyms. Your sessions, packages and prices sit on the page. Clients book one-to-one sessions online, or a space in a small-group class with the number of places shown, and get an email reminder the day before. You see the whole site on your phone before you pay a penny.
What every personal trainer's website needs
Whoever builds your website, these seven things turn a visitor into a regular client. Use them as a checklist for the site you have now.
Your qualifications and insurance
A Level 3 qualification in personal training is what clients and gyms look for, along with CIMSPA membership, insurance and a current first aid certificate. Say what you hold.
On Setout: Your qualifications go in your about section and, on designs with a highlights strip, in a line of badges across the page.
Prices and packages
A single session, a block of ten, small-group sessions, an online plan: list them with prices. People budget for training, and a price on the page brings the ones who can pay it.
On Setout: Each session or package has its own price and description, and can have its own page on your site, such as "personal trainer Cheltenham".
A timetable for group sessions
If you run small-group or bootcamp sessions, show the week at a glance and how many places are left. A nearly full class fills faster.
On Setout: Classes have a set number of places, and clients see how many are left when they book. The Forge design shows the week as a timetable.
A free or low-cost first session
A taster session or a consultation is the easiest yes. Make it the first thing a visitor can book.
On Setout: Make the first session a bookable service. Clients pick a time, you get the booking by email and they get a confirmation and an email reminder.
Real results, with permission
Show real clients' progress, with their permission, and keep claims realistic. The advertising rules are strict on weight-loss claims, and a client's own words persuade more than a number.
On Setout: You add reviews to your site in a minute. After a booking, Setout can email the client a link to leave you a Google review.
Where you train
Name the gym, the park or the studio, say whether you visit clients at home and mention parking. People train with someone who is easy to get to.
On Setout: We put your area in your page text and your page title ("Personal trainer in Cheltenham"), so Google and your clients can see where you work.
A health questionnaire before the first session
Ask every new client to complete a health questionnaire, such as a PAR-Q, before you train them. Say on your site that you will, so it comes as no surprise.
On Setout: You get each booking by email with the client's details, so you can send your questionnaire before you meet.

Questions personal trainers ask us
How quickly can you build a website for my training business?
Usually within a couple of days of our call. Send us your sessions and prices, a few photos and where you train. You see the site on your phone before you pay anything.
Can clients book a place in a group class?
Yes. Set how many places a class has, and clients see how many are left when they book.
Can I sell gift vouchers for sessions?
Yes. Sell gift cards from your own site, and clients spend them when they book.
Can clients pay by card when they book?
Not yet. Today clients pay by bank transfer, PayPal, a payment link or in person, and you mark bookings as paid.
Most of my clients come by word of mouth. Do I need a website?
Word of mouth brings the best clients, and many of them look you up before they get in touch. A website on your own address is what they find: what you do, what it costs, who you are and how to book. It's also where Google sends people who search for what you do in your town.
What does it cost, and is there a contract?
£39 a month including VAT, or £390 for the year. That's for the whole business, with hosting, security and your web address included, and no setup fee. There's no contract, so you can cancel any time, and if it isn't right for you we'll refund your first payment in full within 30 days. You pay nothing at all until your site is live.
Tell us about your business. We'll build your site and send you the link to see it before you pay.
