Websites for dog groomers

Dog groomers: Setout builds a website where owners see your prices and book.

£39 a month including VAT. Your domain's included, you can cancel any time and you pay nothing until it's live.

The Grooming design on a phone: an example dog groomer’s website
An example groomer's site on Setout, in the Grooming design: gentle handling up front and your packages a tap away. Built for you, and you see it before you pay.

Owners choose a groomer the way they'd choose a childminder: carefully. They want to know their dog will be handled gently, what it will cost for their breed and how long it will take. Then they want to book a slot without three rounds of messages.

Setout builds you that website, on a design made for dog groomers. Your packages and prices by size sit on the page, along with how you handle nervous dogs. Owners book online, get a confirmation and an email reminder and can buy a gift card for a dog-loving friend. You see the whole site on your phone before you pay a penny.

What every dog groomer's website needs

Whoever builds your website, these seven things fill a groomer's table. Use them as a checklist for the site you have now.

  1. Prices by size, breed or coat

A Yorkie and a Newfoundland don't cost the same. List prices by size or coat type, and say what a full groom includes: bath, dry, clip, nails, ears.

On Setout: Make each size or package its own service with its own price and length, and each can have its own page, such as "dog grooming Swindon".

  2. Your qualifications and insurance

Dog grooming doesn't need a council licence in England, so owners look for training, such as a City & Guilds grooming qualification, and insurance. Say what you hold.

On Setout: Your qualifications go in your about section and, on designs with a highlights strip, in a line of badges across the page.

  3. How you handle nervous dogs

Rescue dogs, puppies and older dogs all need patience. Say how you take it slowly, and whether you offer short introductory visits.

On Setout: Make a puppy introduction its own short service, so it books in the same few taps.

  4. Your policy on matted coats

Sometimes the kindest thing for a matted dog is a short clip. Say so on the page, so owners agree before the appointment, not at collection.

On Setout: Your own wording goes anywhere on your page, and you can change it yourself.

  5. Health and vaccinations

Say what you need to know before the groom: vaccinations, fleas, skin conditions, medical issues and when you'll ask the owner to see a vet first.

On Setout: Put it in each service's description, so owners read it as they book.

  6. Before and after photos

A matted spaniel turned into a neat teddy-bear trim is the best advert a groomer has. Take before and after photos on your phone.

On Setout: Your photos go in a gallery on your site, added from your phone in a few taps.

  7. Booking that brings dogs back

Many coats need a groom every six to eight weeks. Encourage owners to book the next appointment before they leave.

On Setout: Owners book online, and you can send a regular a link to book their next groom. You get each booking by email; they get a confirmation and an email reminder.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your business

Fill in the form below. We'll call you the same working day, weekdays, if you ask before 3pm. Ask after 3pm or at the weekend and we'll call you the next working day. Send us your current website or Facebook page, a few photos, your services and the area you cover. One phone call is usually enough.

  2. We build it

We build your site on a design made for dog groomers, with your services, your area, your reviews and a way for customers to reach you. It's usually ready within a couple of days.

  3. You see it on your phone before you pay

We send you a private link. Look at it on your phone, show it to whoever you like and tell us what to change. You pay nothing until it goes live.

Questions dog groomers ask us

How quickly can you build a website for my grooming business?

Usually within a couple of days of our call. Send us your prices, a few before and after photos and your hours. You see the site on your phone before you pay anything.

Can I charge differently by dog size?

Yes. Make each size its own service with its own price and length, and owners pick the right one when they book.

Can I sell shampoo, treats or gift cards?

Yes. Sell products and gift cards from your own site, with discount codes when you want to run an offer.

Can owners pay a deposit by card when they book?

Not yet. Today owners pay in person, by bank transfer, PayPal or a payment link, and you mark bookings as paid.

Most of my clients come by word of mouth. Do I need a website?

Word of mouth brings the best clients, and many of them look you up before they get in touch. A website on your own address is what they find: what you do, what it costs, who you are and how to book. It's also where Google sends people who search for what you do in your town.

What does it cost, and is there a contract?

£39 a month including VAT, or £390 for the year. That's for the whole business, with hosting, security and your web address included, and no setup fee. There's no contract, so you can cancel any time, and if it isn't right for you we'll refund your first payment in full within 30 days. You pay nothing at all until your site is live.

Tell us about your business. We'll build your site and send you the link to see it before you pay.

We'll call you the same working day, weekdays, if you ask before 3pm. Ask after 3pm or at the weekend and we'll call you the next working day. There's nothing to pay until your site is live.
