Electricians: Setout builds your website, usually within a couple of days of our call. See it before you pay.
£39 a month including VAT. Your domain's included, you can cancel any time and you pay nothing until it's live.
An electrician's work tends to arrive through three doors: the homeowner with a tripping fuse box, the landlord who needs an EICR and the family planning a rewire or an EV charger. Each of them searches on a phone, compares two or three websites and picks the one that answers their question and looks qualified.
Setout builds you that website, on a design made for trades. Your number is one tap away, your services have their own prices and pages, and your competent person scheme sits where customers look for it. Enquiries come to your email the moment they're sent, and landlords can book an EICR online and get a reminder by email. You see it on your phone before you pay a penny.
What every electrician's website needs
Whoever builds your website, check it against these seven points. Each one answers a question a customer asks before they ring.
Your competent person scheme and number
In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work in homes falls under Part P of the Building Regulations. Work done by an electrician registered with a competent person scheme, such as NICEIC or NAPIT, can be self-certified, and the homeowner gets a certificate their solicitor will ask for when they sell. Name your scheme and give your number. It's the first thing a careful customer checks.
On Setout: Add your scheme and registration number in the editor and they show in a strip at the top of your site, ready to check.
A page for landlords
Private landlords in England must have the electrics in a rented home inspected and tested at least every five years, and give tenants a copy of the report. That's regular, bookable work. Say you do EICRs, say what one costs for a typical flat and say how quickly you send the report.
On Setout: EICRs become a service with a price and their own page on your site. Landlords pick a time online, and you get the booking by email.
A call button at the top
Someone with no power wants to ring, not read. Put your number at the top of every page as a button that rings you when tapped.
On Setout: Every design shows your number as a tap-to-call button. Switch on the emergency call-out bar and your number and the area you cover run across the top of every page.
One line that saves you wasted calls
If a whole street has lost power, it's a job for the network operator, not you. A line on your site saying "No power on your street? Call 105 first" saves you calls and shows you know your stuff. 105 is the free number for power cuts across Great Britain.
On Setout: Your own wording goes anywhere on your site, and you can change it yourself from your phone.
Prices for the common jobs
You can quote a rewire only after a visit, but you can price an EICR, a new socket, an outside light or a fuse box replacement as a starting figure. Prices on the page tell people you won't surprise them.
On Setout: Each service has its own price and description, and can have a page of its own that Google can find, such as "EV charger installation Bristol".
Photos of tidy work
A neat consumer unit or a cleanly chased-in cable run says more about you than a paragraph. Take a photo at the end of each job and add the best to your site.
On Setout: Your photos go in a gallery on your site. Add them from your phone in a few taps.
Real reviews, with names and towns
Three reviews with a first name and a town do more than twenty anonymous stars. Ask for a Google review on the day you finish, while the customer is pleased.
On Setout: You add reviews to your site in a minute. After an online booking, Setout can email the customer a link to leave you a Google review.

Questions electricians ask us
How quickly can you build a website for my electrical business?
Usually within a couple of days of our call. Send us your services, your scheme details, a few photos of your work and the towns you cover. You see the site on your phone before you pay anything.
Can landlords book an EICR online?
Yes. Add EICRs as a service with a price and how long they take. Landlords pick a time, you get the booking by email and they get a confirmation and an email reminder.
Can I show my NICEIC or NAPIT registration?
Yes. We put your scheme and registration number where customers look for them, so they can check you before they ring.
I already get work from Checkatrade or a Facebook page. Do I need a website as well?
Keep them both. Directories send you enquiries and Facebook keeps regulars in touch, but neither is yours. A website on your own address is where Google sends people who search for your trade and town, where a customer checks you out before they ring and where enquiries come straight to you with no fee per lead. Your Facebook page and your website can link to each other.
Can I change my prices and photos myself?
Yes, from your phone. Click what you want to change and type, the way you'd send a text. Or tell us and we'll change it for you.
What does it cost, and is there a contract?
£39 a month including VAT, or £390 for the year. That's for the whole business, with hosting, security and your web address included, and no setup fee. There's no contract, so you can cancel any time, and if it isn't right for you we'll refund your first payment in full within 30 days. You pay nothing at all until your site is live.
Tell us about your business. We'll build your site and send you the link to see it before you pay.
We'll call you the same working day, weekdays, if you ask before 3pm. Ask after 3pm or at the weekend and we'll call you the next working day. There's nothing to pay until your site is live.
