The Barber design on a phone: an example barbershop website with booking steps
An example barbershop site on Setout, in the Barber design: pick a service, pick your barber, pick a time. Built for you, and you see it before you pay.

Plenty of clients book a haircut the way they buy everything else: on a phone, late at night, a few days before they need it. They want a time, a barber and a price, in three taps. If your shop can't offer that, the shop down the road that can will get the booking, and very likely the regular.

Setout builds your shop that website. Clients pick a service, then the first available barber or one by name, then a time. You get the booking by email, they get a confirmation and an email reminder and every barber can log in to see their own bookings. It's £39 a month including VAT whether there are two chairs or eight. Setout takes no commission, and you see the whole site on your phone before you pay a penny.

What every barber's website needs

Whoever builds your website, these seven things fill a barber's chair. Use them as a checklist for the site you have now.

  1. Walk-ins and bookings, both made clear

Say whether you take walk-ins, and when. Plenty of clients like to wander in on a Saturday; plenty more want a fixed time on a Thursday evening. Telling both what to expect keeps both coming.

On Setout: Online booking only offers the times each barber is set to work, so you decide which hours are for bookings.

  2. Prices on the page

Skin fade, scissor cut, beard trim, hot towel shave, kids and over-65s: list them with prices. A price on the page is the fastest way to win a new client.

On Setout: Each service has its own price and length, and can have its own page on your site, such as "skin fade Leeds".

  3. Every barber by name

Regulars follow their barber, not the shop. A photo and a line about each barber lets a new client pick someone, and lets a regular book the one they always see.

On Setout: Clients choose the first available barber or one by name. Each barber can log in to see their own bookings.

  4. Fewer no-shows

An empty chair is lost money. A reminder the day before, and a clear rule on late cancellations, cut no-shows more than anything you say at the till.

On Setout: Clients get an email reminder before every booking, and can cancel or move online up to your cut-off. Card deposits aren't available yet; payment is in person, by bank transfer, PayPal or a payment link.

  5. Photos of real cuts

Fades, beards, textured crops, taken in good light in your shop. A gallery of your own work sells your barbers better than any stock photo.

On Setout: Your photos go in a gallery on your site, added from your phone in a few taps.

  6. Products and gift cards

Pomade, beard oil and gift cards for birthdays and Christmas are easy extra sales from people who already like you.

On Setout: Sell products and gift cards from your own site, with discount codes when you want to run an offer.

  7. Reviews from regulars

Ask regulars for a Google review. A shop with a hundred recent reviews looks busy, and busy looks good.

On Setout: After an online booking, Setout can email the client a link to leave you a Google review.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your business

Fill in the form below. We'll call you the same working day, weekdays, if you ask before 3pm. Ask after 3pm or at the weekend and we'll call you the next working day. Send us your current website or Facebook page, a few photos, your services and the area you cover. One phone call is usually enough.

  2. We build it

We build your site on a design made for barbers, with your services, your area, your reviews and a way for customers to reach you. It's usually ready within a couple of days.

  3. You see it on your phone before you pay

We send you a private link. Look at it on your phone, show it to whoever you like and tell us what to change. You pay nothing until it goes live.

Questions barbers ask us

How quickly can you build a website for my barbershop?

Usually within a couple of days of our call. Send us your prices, your barbers, your hours and a few photos of your work. You see the site on your phone before you pay anything.

Does the price go up as I add barbers?

No. It's £39 a month including VAT for the whole shop, however many barbers you have, and Setout takes no commission on any booking.

Can clients choose the first available barber?

Yes. They choose first available or a barber by name, then a time that barber is free.

Can clients pay a deposit by card when they book?

Not yet. Today clients pay in person, by bank transfer, PayPal or a payment link, and you mark bookings as paid.

Can I still take walk-ins?

Yes. Your website says when you take walk-ins, and online booking only fills the times you choose to open to it.

What does it cost, and is there a contract?

£39 a month including VAT, or £390 for the year. That's for the whole business, with hosting, security and your web address included, and no setup fee. There's no contract, so you can cancel any time, and if it isn't right for you we'll refund your first payment in full within 30 days. You pay nothing at all until your site is live.
