If you're on Yell, the date that matters is the end of your minimum term. Yell's own help pages explain that its products come with minimum terms; your agreement will say when yours ends and how much notice to give.
Here's the useful part. Setout is free until you publish. We can build your new site now, while your Yell contract runs, and you can look at it on your phone as often as you like. You publish, and start paying, on the day your Yell site stops. There's no gap and no month of paying twice.

When Yell is the better choice
Being fair about it, there are good reasons to stay with Yell.
- You want everything from one company. Yell sells a listing on Yell.com and other marketing as well as websites. Setout only builds and runs your website and bookings.
- You'd rather deal with a long-established name. Yell has been part of British business since the Yellow Pages. Setout is a small UK company: Two Fat Cats Ltd, trading as Setout, registered in England and Wales.
- You're happy with what you have. If your Yell site brings you work and the price suits you, there's no reason to move.
When Setout is the better choice
- You want to be free to leave. There is no contract with Setout. Cancel any time, and if it isn't right in the first 30 days, we'll refund your first payment in full.
- You want bookings, not just a brochure. Customers pick a service and a time on your site. You get the booking by email; they get a confirmation and an email reminder.
- You want to know the price up front. £39 a month including VAT, or £390 for the year. It's the same for every business and it's on our homepage. No setup fee.
- You want to change things yourself. Update words, photos, prices and opening hours from your phone, the way you'd send a text. Or ask us and we'll do it.
- You want a design made for your trade. An emergency plumber's site shouldn't look like a florist's. We have designs made for plumbers, roofers, joiners, decorators, cleaners and gardeners.
Moving from Yell: your new site ready the day your contract ends
Find your end date.
Check your agreement, or ask Yell, when your minimum term ends and how much notice they need. Put the date in your diary.
Ask about your web address.
If your site uses your own address, such as yourbusiness.co.uk, ask Yell who it's registered to and how to move it. If it's registered to you, it's yours to keep, and we'll connect it to your new site. If it can't move, we'll register a new one for you, included in the price.

Send us your current site and a few photos you own. We build the new one while your contract runs, and you see it on your phone. Nothing to pay.
Go live the day Yell ends.

Update your links.
If your web address changes, update the link on your Google Business Profile, your Facebook page and your van. Your Google profile stays yours whatever website you use.
Questions about moving from Yell
Can I keep my web address when I leave Yell?
If it's registered to you, yes. Ask Yell for what's needed to move it, and we'll connect it to your new site. If you can't keep it, we'll register a new address for you, included while you subscribe.
Do I pay for Setout while my Yell contract is still running?
No. Setout is free until you publish. We build your site now, you see it before you pay and your first payment is the day you go live.
Will I lose my place on Google if I move?
Your Google Business Profile, with its reviews, stays yours whatever website you use. If your web address stays the same, Google finds your new pages in time. If it changes, update the link on your profile; search results can take a few weeks to catch up.
Can you use the words and photos from my Yell site?
We'll use your own words and any photos you own. Photos Yell supplied may belong to Yell, so we'll use your photos of your work instead, which usually sell better anyway.
Is there a contract with Setout?
No. Cancel any time. If it isn't right for you, tell us within 30 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full.
How long does it take?
Usually within a couple of days of our call. If your Yell contract has months to run, we'll have it ready and waiting.

We'll call you the same working day, weekdays, if you ask before 3pm. Ask after 3pm or at the weekend and we'll call you the next working day. There's nothing to pay until your site is live.
